Passaro hit over .400 for St. Elizabeth

    Heather Passaro (Vernon High School) was a catcher and utility player for the College of Saint Elizabeth (Morristown, NJ) softball program this year.
    Passaro, a senior, is listed as a Justice Studies major with a minor in Psychology. Passaro started in 22 games and led the team with a .405 batting average, with 30 hits, including one double, three triples and two RBIs.
    The Eagles had seven wins on the season, including two victories on their home field.
    Luke Loughery (High Point High School) was a senior catcher for the Bloomfield College baseball team this year. Loughery, listed as a Business management major, played in 31 games and started in 20 of them for Bloomfield. He had a .250 batting average with 14 hits, including two doubles, three triples and nine RBIs. Loughery also scored nine runs.
    The Bears tallied an overall record of 18-22 and they were 8-6 on their home field. Bloomfield recorded six wins in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.
    Luke Tremont, a graduate of Vernon high School, was a senior midfielder for the Centenary University men’s lacrosse program this spring. Tremont, listed as a Graphic Design major, scored 19 goals and posted three assists for the Cyclones.
    The Cyclones tallied an overall record of 7-7 and they went 4-3 in the Colonial State Athletic Conference (CSAC). They advanced to the CSAC Tournament where they were defeated in the semifinal round by Marywood University in a game held in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
    Miranda Burns (Vernon High School) was a junior who played attack for the Centenary University women’s girls lacrosse team this spring. Burns is listed as a Sports Management and Social Media Marketing major. She did not compete because of an injury according to the Centenary athletic web site.
    The Cyclones finished the season with two wins, one of which occurred on their home field.
    Richard Stecher (Wallkill Valley high School) was a freshman outfielder for the Fairleigh Dickinson University baseball squad this spring. Stecher, listed as a Sports Administration major, played in 11 games and had a .250 batting average with one hit, one RBI and one run scored.
    The Devils had 12 overall victories, including six wins in the Middle Atlantic Conference. FDU posted four wins on their home field.
