— Approximately fifty (50) volunteers from the local area are needed for the 8th annual Pass It Along Triathlon on Saturday, July 29 at Lake Mohawk Country Club in Sparta. The annual summer fundraiser is the only triathlon in Sussex County, and draws several hundred participants and spectators each year to raise funds to help continue free programs for teenagers offered by Pass It Along.
Volunteers will help in various areas of the event, in three (3) to four (4) hour shifts from 4:00am to noon. Team volunteering is welcomed and encouraged. Families, businesses, Girls and Boys Scouts, sports teams and clubs may volunteer in groups of up to three. Coffee, donuts, bagels, fruit and water will be provided for all volunteers. All volunteers will also receive a volunteer tee shirt, and credit for service hours.

The net proceeds from this event will benefit Pass It Along, a 501c3 nonprofit organization. Since its inception in 2001, Pass It Along has been committed to helping teenagers become confident, resilient and compassionate through self-discovery, volunteerism and leadership. Pass It Along relies solely on funding from donations and fundraising events like the triathlon to fulfill their mission, and deliver free programs and services to the local community. Registering for the event, volunteering and sponsorship in the triathlon are all great ways to support the community, and continuing programs that give our teenagers opportunities to discover themselves and serve the over 40 nonprofit agency partners.
