    June 9Eric Faulkner, 33, of Newton was sentenced to 10 years in state prison subject to No Early Release Act for a Robbery and sentenced to 5 years State Prison for a Theft both of which occurred in June of 2015 in the Township of Hardyston. These sentences were ordered to run concurrent to one another. Faulkner received 514 days jail credit and was ordered to pay all mandatory fines and fees.
    In addition, the Defendant was sentenced to five years in state prison for an aggravated assault on another inmate in March of 2017 when he was incarcerated at the Keough-Dwyer Correctional Facility. This sentences was ordered to run concurrent to the Robbery and Theft sentence.   
    He pleaded guilty on April 19, 2017, to Robbery (a second-degree crime), theft (a third-degree crime). This case was investigated by the Hardyston Township Police Department and the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office. On the same date, the Defendant also pled guilty to Aggravated Assault (a third degree crime) on another inmate at the Sussex County Courthouse.
    This case was investigated by the Sussex County Sheriff’s Office and the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office.
    Kile Burke, 28, of Dingmans Ferry, Pa., was sentenced to three years in state prison with credit for 499 days served. He also must have no contact with the victim or the victim’s family, no unsupervised contact with minors under the age of 16, and pay standard fines and fees. At his release he will be required to register under Megan’s Law and will be supervised under Parole Supervision for Life. 
    He pleaded guilty on March 15, 2017, to endangering the welfare of a child (a third-degree crime) and criminal sexual contact (a fourth-degree crime). 
    June 16Jessica Lawless, 27, of Hopatcong, was sentenced to three years of probation concurrent with her Morris County Probation. She was ordered to complete 100 hours of community service work, submit to a TASC evaluation and follow any and all recommendations made from same, continue to attend NA/AA meetings, submit a DNA sample at her own expense, and pay fines and fees totaling $1,205. If successful, she may request early release after two years.
    She pleaded guilty on April 10, 2017, to possession of a controlled dangerous substance, a third-degree crime.
    On Feb. 6, the defendant’s vehicle was stopped in Andover Township for motor vehicle violations. The defendant was in possession of four bags of crack cocaine.
    Jason Verkaik, 28, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on June 16, 2017.
    Verkaik, age 28, of Franklin, N.J, was sentenced to one year of probation and 20 hours of community service. Verkaik was also ordered to have no contact with his victim and pay mandatory fines and fees. 
    Verkaik pleaded guilty on May 1, 2017, to harassment, a petty disorderly persons offense. 
    On Jan. 23, 2017, Verkaik was arrested for Harassment and Stalking after sending threatening messages to his friend’s ex-girlfriend via Facebook.  
    June 19Brandon Ryzner-Meredith, 26, of Newton was sentenced to one year of probation and 20 hours of community service. Ryzner-Meredith was also ordered to have no contact with his victim and pay mandatory fines and fees. 
    Ryzner-Meredith pleaded guilty on May 1, 2017, to harassment, a petty disorderly persons offense. 
    On Jan. 23, 2017, Ryzner-Meredith was arrested for Harassment after sending threatening messages to his ex-girlfriend via Facebook.
