Maureen Theresa McDonald

Maureen Theresa McDonald(nee O’Connor), 74 years old, died after a short illness at Newton Medical Center on Monday, June 12, 2017. Born to Francis and Alice O’Connor in Queens, NY, she had lived in the Sussex Hills section of Vernon Twp., NJ for 25 years before moving to Dingman’s Ferry, Pa. 25 years ago.
Maureen worked as the head cashier for Legends Resort in Vernon, NJ. She was a member of the Pochuck Valley Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for over 20 years, an avid Yankees Fan and enjoyed casino trips. She took great joy in being with family especially during the holidays and was a doting wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Maureen is predeceased by her husband, Kenneth J. McDonald(2014) and is the devoted mother of Maureen Munn and her husband, Craig of Lakeville, PA and Linda Boniface and her fiancée Jim Hawthorne of Glenwood, N.J.. Loving grandmother of Bradley, Kelly, Jessica and Melissa. Great grandmother of twins, Kenny and Katie. Dear sister of Teresa Hayward and her husband, Don of Little Egg Harbor, NJ and Alice Hahn of Sussex Hills, N.J.
The family will receive their friends at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94(1 Vanderhoof Court for GPS), Vernon, N.J., on Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be Friday, June 16, 2017, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood, NJ. Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers to the Pochuck Valley Fire Dept.
