Blues beat Blacks in softball classic

— The third annual Mugs Media/Sussex County Community College Senior All-Star Classic took place on Wednesday, June 7, 2017. The Blue all stars beat the Black all stars. The team names corresponded with the color of their jersey. The final score was 5-2. The softball teams were comprised of elite local high school seniors. The game took place at Sussex County Community College (SCCC) in Newton.
Gabriella Ciasullo was named the most valuable player for the Blue all stars. She threw seven innings producing four strikeouts and surrendered two runs on eight hits and two walks. Ciasullo attends Wallkill Valley Regional High School in Hardyston.
Jordyn Martin was named the most valuable player for the Black all stars after she finished 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Martin attends High Point Regional High School in Wantage.
The Blue all stars were Kittatinny's Katelyn Chadwick, Olivia Manser and Brooke Webber, Lenape Valley's Milena Lacatena, Nicole Catalina and Wallkill Valley's Gabriella Ciasullo, Samantha Hutnick, Ariel Milligan and Sussex County Community College softball player Summer Taylor. Taylor who was a substitute is a graduate of Kittatinny Regional High School.
The Black all stars were High Point's Jordyn Martin, Ally Fairweather, Kelsey Little and Brooke Wannamacher, Hopatcong's Samantha Serocke, Sussex Tech's Julia Caron and Emma Noury and Vernon's Ashalee Breining and Ally Latham.
Several other athletes were selected to play in the all-star game but were unable to attend.
