NEWTON — The Sussex County Chapter of the National Organization for Women (NOW) and the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Sussex County will co-sponsor a free educational seminar, “LGBTQ 101,” on Friday, June 23, 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Fellowship, 1 West Nelson St., in Newton.
The goal of the seminar is to help area residents better understand their friends and neighbors who are gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, or transgendered.
The organizers of the event recognize that people are typically reluctant to talk about sexual identity. They hope that the seminar can help to break down communication barriers and prejudices. Discussion will be open and questions will be welcome.
Anyone is welcome to attend the seminar and there is no need to register in advance. For more information, email SussexCountyNOW@gmail.com.
