Miller Brothers MMA & Fitness Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai coach Jim Fitzpatrick continued his winning ways inside the MMA cage at Cage Fury Fighting Championships 65, when he defeated Bobby Malcolm by unanimous decision.
The bout went all three rounds, with Fitzpatrick’s crisp striking and clear grappling edge winning the day.
After an opening frame which saw the men fight evenly on the feet before Fitzpatrick scored a takedown, the Sparta-based fighter began to put his stamp on the bout in the second round. After landing a strike which cut Malcolm, Fitzpatrick shot in for a takedown and finished the round landing strikes from on top to leave no-doubt about who had won the round.
With the score for the first round up in the air, both men came out looking to take the third round to ensure victory, and once again the grappling of Fitzpatrick, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Brown Belt, was too much for Malcolm. Using an attempted takedown to pin Malcolm against the cage, Fitzpatrick scored with a takedown off the wall. After the fight returned to standing, Fitzpatrick countered a Malcolm takedown, again forcing his opponent against the cage and scoring with knees to the body on the fence as the round came to a close.
The victory improves Fitzpatrick’s record to 3-1, maintaining his perfect record with Miller Brothers MMA’s fight team.
Next up for the Miller Brothers MMA fight team are Tyler Bayer and Cristian Santos who will compete in kickboxing bouts at Dead Serious Kickboxing on June 24.
