Measure proposing Farmers Market Week advances

TRENTON — The first full week in August may become Farmers Market Week under legislation sponsored by Assemblyman Parker Space.
It passed the Assembly Agriculture Committee today by a 5-0 vote.
“Farmers markets offer fresh-from-the-fields vegetables and fruit at a low cost,” said Space. “Consumers can find higher quality local produce, and farmers have another place to sell their crops.”
