Camp Summer to provide camp for boys

More than 800 local boys from Sussex and Morris counties spend each summer making memories at Camp Summer located on the 1,000-acre Mount Allamuchy Scout Reservation in Stanhope.
Although Camp Wheeler is a Cub Scout camp, any boy entering grades 1-5 are welcome to attend. Some camp activities include, archaeology, archery, BB guns, boating, climbing, crafts, Cub Scout advancement, family campfire, fishing, funyaks, games, hiking, mountain bikes, nature, nerf action adventure, on-site swimming pool, rafting, RC vehicles, science, scoutcraft, slingshots, and a custom zip line.
“Camp Wheeler is about learning new skills that will help each boy develop into a well- rounded young man,” said Keith Dlugosz, Camp Director. “As one of our many activities, the boys have the opportunity to make life-long memories.“
Camp operates for 6 weeks in July and August, Mondays to Fridays, from 8:45 a.m. until 4:15 p.m. Camp Wheeler offer an action-packed day with lots of fun — and some learning too. Camp Wheeler stresses character development and provides a fun and safe summer program for boys. The camp maintains a staff to boy ratio of 1:5 or better and bus transportation.
