Robert A. Bouma, 90 years old, died after a short illness at his daughter’s residence on Friday, May 5, 2017. Born to Albert and Charlotte Bouma in Hawthorne, NJ where he was raised before moving to Hamburg, N.J., 55 years ago.
Robert served with the United States Army during World War II and then worked as a cell tower technician for Western Electric in Colesville, N.J., for many years retiring in 1985. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed reading.
Robert is predeceased by his wife, Etna “Marge” Bouma(2005) and a sister, Charlotte Colgan (2017) and is the devoted father of William A. “Billy” Bouma and his wife, Cathy of Stroudsburg, PA, Kim Campbell of Sparta, NJ and Tracey Bouma and her partner, Christine of Sparta, N.J. Loving grandfather of Kristie, Jason, Lindsay, Robert, Sarah, Olivia and Matthew. Great grandfather of Chase. Dear brother of Erma Reitter of Mahwah, N.J.
Private graveside services under the direction of F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main Street, Franklin, N.J., will be at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Hardyston Twp., NJ.
