Miners announce promotional schedule

AUGUSTA — The Sussex County Miners are gearing up for the 2017 baseball season and they are rolling out their most exciting slate of affordable, family-friendly entertainment yet. The Miners have officially announced their 2017 Promotional Schedule, which will include 11 fireworks shows and all-new daily promotions that make every day a great day to come to the ballpark.
Every day is special at Skylands Stadium and it all starts on Opening Night. The Miners take on the Rockland Boulders at Skylands Stadium on Friday, May 19, and the fans can rock out to live music before the game with a performance by the talented “Rated R Band” and enjoy a community art project, presented by Get Juiced. The first 1,000 fans through the gates on Opening Night will also receive a free Miners Magnet Schedule, presented by R Proust Heating and Cooling. Finally, the night will conclude with spectacular fireworks after the ballgame. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
Fireworks are not just for Opening Night. The Miners are excited to announce 11 fireworks shows throughout the season. Every Saturday night home game will feature a postgame fireworks show and the Miners will also have special fireworks shows on Memorial Day and July 4th.
The Miners and Skylands Stadium love kids. That is why the Miners are introducing a brand new deal to get kids in the ballpark in 2017. At every Miners home game, children 38” tall and under will receive free admission into the ballgame. Children must be accompanied by a paid adult and families are limited to two free children per adult per game.
The 2017 schedule will also feature a tremendous array of theme nights, perfect for kids and parents alike. On June 30, come to Skylands Stadium to celebrate the best mascot in baseball on Herbie the Miner’s Birthday. Come out to Skylands Stadium on Saturday, July 1 to enjoy one of the marquee events of the season with Star Wars Night, featuring some of your favorite characters from the movie series. Kids can also meet their favorite heroes on Superhero Night on Sunday, July 30. Other promotions throughout the season include Bark in the Park (May 28), Veterans Go Free (May 29), Faith Night (June 10), Country Night (July 3), Paint the Park Purple (July 8), First Responders Night (July 9), Irish Night (August 17), Ladies Night (August 19) and Fan Appreciation Day (September 3).
