    George M. Botsko, Jr. of Vernon N.J., passed away on April 28 after a year of battling cancer. Born in Somerville, N.J., to the late George M. Botsko, Sr.., and Margaret (Gall) Botsko, he lived in Manville N.J. before serving in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1960 to 1963. He began his career in law enforcement with the Bernardsville, N.J., Police Department and later retired from the Morris County Prosecutor's Office as a Detective after 30 years.
    He was a member of the Morris County Retired Detectives Association, served as an instructor at the Morris County Police and Fire Academy and was a NOVA Counselor (National Organization of Victim Advocates). He leaves behind his wife of 36 years Christine (Foster) Botsko, a daughter, Kimberly Grasso, and son-in-law, Rob of Marietta, Ga., his son, Sean M. Botsko of Vernon and two grandchildren, Claire Amelia Grasso and Chase George Grasso of Marietta, Ga. He was predeceased by two brothers-in-law, Larry Tammaro and Peter Chester. He has four siblings: Joan Chester of Hackettstown, John Botsko and his wife, Julie, of Manville; Philip Botsko and his wife, Eleanor, of Chester and Rita Oggier of Kulpmont, Pa. and many cherished nieces and nephews.
    A private cremation was arranged and a memorial service to honor his life will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Highland Lakes, N.J., in the future.
