Sparta fighter wins MMA match in Freehold

Tyler Bayer kept the good times rolling for the Miller Brothers MMA fight team as he picked up a dominant victory at Dead Serious MMA 25.
Bayer took on Marcus Chin on the event’s main card, and controlled the action with top control and submission attacks in all three rounds to record a unanimous decision which improved Tyler’s record to 9-2.
The victory is Bayer’s fourth since joining the Sparta gym.
Chin struggled to get going against Bayer, as any attempts to mount offense on the feet were quickly stymied by Bayer’s takedowns. Once the competitors were on the mat, Bayer’s top game was overwhelming and kept Chin on the defensive for the duration of the bout, dealing with both strikes and submissions.
Bayer was close to eliciting the fight-ending tap on multiple occasions, most notably with a choke and with a very deep shoulder lock. On both submission attempts Chin’s hand moved to tap before he found enough room to endure. Although Chin’s submission defense was enough to keep from being stopped, it was not enough to earn the judges' favor at the end of three rounds.
The victory is Miller Brothers MMA’s 7th in as many tries in local East Coast MMA promotions, and they will look to see that mark moved to 10-0 at PA Cage Fight 28 as Jim Fitzpatrick, Cristian Santos and Joe Tizzano all take to the cage riding two-fight winning streaks.
