    Richard Aaron McDole, 71, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017. Richard was born on Sept. 28, 1945 in Hamburg to the late Walter John and Etta Ruth (Holley) McDole. Richard was a lifelong resident of the Hamburg/Hardyston area.
    Richard was a 1963 graduate of Franklin High School. Richard served in the United States Army, 9th Infantry Division and the 196th Light Infantry Brigade in Vietnam and was a recipient of the Vietnam Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Richard was a quality control manager for Monroe Wire and Cable Co., Middletown, N.Y., for over 36 years. Richard was a member of the Hardyston Township Seniors. Richard also enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Double V (Vernon Valley) Rod and Gun Club. Richard was an avid local Cardinals, Skyhawks and Miners baseball fan, and he was a season ticket holder at Skylands Park in Augusta, since its opening.
    Richard was predeceased by his parents, and two brothers, Donald R. McDole and John E. McDole.
    Richard is survived by his loving wife, Carol A. (Rude) McDole, and his sons, Richard A. McDole Jr. and his wife, Andrea, of Howell and Robert A. McDole and his wife, Joanne, of Fredon, and his cherished grandchildren, Justin, Emily, Jack and Madeline, and his brothers, Harry K. McDole, of Sussex, Barry J. McDole and his wife, Sue, of Hardyston, and his sisters, Carol "Jean" Steffy and her husband, Kenneth, and Ann C. Scott, of Hamburg, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
    Relatives and friends will be received on Wednesday, April 19 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., at the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, 1 Main St., Franklin, and are invited to attend funeral services at the funeral home on Thursday, April 20 at 10 a.m., committal and interment service at North Hardyston Cemetery.
