Ryan Oleksy, a senior at Wallkill Valley Regional High School, was named TransOptions student of the month for April by WSUS radio station in Franklin for his work as a scholar, volunteer and all around great student.
He was nominated by his older brother Austin who wrote an essay outlining his many accomplishments. Austin was also a WSUS student of the month back in February of 2008.
Steve Andrews from WSUS interviewed Ryan on the radio along with Joe Caravella from TransOptions and Liz McDonough with Visions Credit Union. They awarded Ryan with a plaque and two gift cards.
Ryan was not a stranger to the WSUS student of the month, back in May of 2011 when he was a sixth grader at Franklin Borough Elementary School he was also honored as student of the month. Ryan was a high honors student back then and still tops the charts in high school. Ryan was accepted into the 5 year Master’s Program at Steven’s Institute of Technology where he will study Mechanical Engineering.
