Thomas John Tierney

Thomas John Tierney, 80 years old, died after a short illness at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel, N.J., on Friday, April 21, 2017. Born to Joseph Patrick and Elizabeth (Sabini) Tierney in Bayonne, N.J., he was a resident of Sparta, N.J., for 45 years before moving to Ogdensburg, N.J., 11 years ago.
Thomas began his working life with is father at the Tierney Bottling Company in Bayonne, NJ. Thomas was the owner and operator of the Speakeasy in Sparta, NJ for many years retiring in 2005. He was a member of the Tri-County Motorcycle Club and enjoyed motorcycle riding, fishing and attending all of the Tierney parties.
Thomas is predeceased by his wife, Daryl Tierney (1996), a son, Timothy Tierney (2009), his brothers, Joseph, Jimmy, Timmy, Pat and John and a sister-in-law, Ginny Tierney and is the beloved father of Thomas J. Tierney, Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of Warner Robbins, GA and Joseph P. Tierney and his wife, Diane of Roseville, CA. Loving grandfather of Patrick, Christina, Joseph and Jonathan. Dear brother of Mariann Donovan and her husband, Bobby, Michael Tierney and his wife, Ellen and Elizabeth Kowalski and her husband, Bobby, sister in laws Rena, Joanne and Sue. Cherished by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews and great grandnieces and nephews.
The family will receive their friends at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main Street, Franklin, NJ on Monday, April 24, 2017 from 3-7 p.m. Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
