Salon owner to be honored by chamber

OAK RIDGE — The Jefferson Township Chamber of Commerce will honor Lynette Skok, owner of the Harmony Salon & Spa, at Casa Bianca on April 20 at 7 p.m.
She established the business, a beauty salon based on Christian beliefs, in 2007. She rented a storefront close to home and church, renovated it and many of her clients from her previous 25 years of employment followed her.
"With my eyes in front, life has more meaning and balance," Skok said.
She said her favorite part of being in business is seeing old clients and meeting and making new ones. Plus owning her own business gives her the flexibility to hold an event, leave to run and errand or see a doctor if she needs to.
"I pretty much set my own hours and I do love to be at the salon," she said. "A friend once said to me, 'you can't run a business with the 'closed' sign up'."
