William "Bill" Ward Good

    William "Bill" Ward Good of Oak Ridge died on Saturday, April 1, 2017. He was 89.
    Bill was the beloved husband of Rita (Patterson) Good. He was born in Paterson, the son of the late William H. and Edna Mae (Ward) Good,
    He was a Navy veteran and served on the USS Antietam as a Gunner’s Mate and saw service in the Pacific Theater. He was employed by New Jersey Bell Telephone for 42 years, retiring in 1993 as a senior power and apparatus man.
    Bill was a member and captain of the Fair Lawn Fire Company #3, a member of Community Fire Company #2 Oak Ridge/Newfoundland and the New Jersey Forest Fire Service. He served as director of the West Milford Sterlings Jr. Drum and Bugle Corps and the Lakeland Brass, was a member of the American Legion and the West Milford Republican Club and served as a town committeeman, past master of Silentia Lodge #168 F&AM and past patron of Silentia Chapter #56 Order of the Eastern Star.
    Also surviving are his daughter, Jody Tanis and her husband, Robert; two sons, James and his wife, Lynn, and Jeffrey and his wife, April; four grandchildren, one step-grandson and three step-great-grandsons; his brother Harry and his wife, Jo; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
    Friends may call at Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford, on Tuesday, April 4, from 5 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 5, at 10:30 a.m.
    Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Oak Ridge.
