Yardley kicks off freeholder campaign

NEWTON — Freeholder candidate Herbert Yardley kicked off his campaign to a full house of supporters on Tuesday, March 7, at the Mohawk House in Sparta. Yardley’s event attracted many of the movers and shakers in Sussex County, including Senator Steve Oroho, Assemblyman Parker Space, Assembly candidate and former Labor Commissioner Hal Wirths, Sheriff Mike Strada, Freeholder Sylvia Petillo along with many other Sussex County leaders, friends, and family.
Senator Steve Oroho introduced Yardley and spoke highly of his experience managing the Sussex County Health Department and making it one of the best in the state. He also spoke of Herb’s experience as a successful Committeeman and Mayor of Stillwater Township; stressing the importance of Herb’s stellar focus on constituent service.
“As my campaign moves forward, I will continue talking to the taxpayers, community leaders, and business owners who are the focus of this election. Hearing from them and gathering their thoughts, ideas, and concerns will continue to be my campaign's top priority.” Yardley stated.
"We all want the same things: Safe and secure communities, a growing economy and more jobs, less spending and debt, lower property taxes, honest and open government."
This is what I have always worked at and it is what I will continue to work at providing the people of Sussex County.
Herb and his wife Pat have been residents of Sussex County for more than 30 years. Pat is a retired Special Education teacher and LDT-C from Stillwater and Fredon Schools. They reside in Stillwater and have two grown children and three grandchildren.
The seat held by Freeholder Philip Crabb is up for election this yeawr. The Republican primary is on June 6.
