Tour Jefferson Township’s 96-acre facility at Camp Jefferson on Sunday, March 19, or Sunday, April 2, and learn firsthand what it has to offer your child this summer during the Recreation Department’s 14th annual summer day camp program.
The facility is located at 81 Weldon Road in Lake Hopatcong, N.J., easily accessible via Routes 80, 15, or 23.
Children accompanied by their parents/guardians are encouraged to drop in anytime between 1 and 4 p.m. on either day to tour Camp Jefferson and view the Camp’s exciting 2016 video and slide presentation. Camp Jefferson’s Summer Camp Directors and several staff members will be on hand to answer your questions with Summer Day Camp brochures, information on this year’s offerings, and information on how to register online through Community Pass. The first 50 families at each open house will receive a complimentary canvas tote bag.
The camp program is open to resident and non-resident children who must be 3 years old by June 26 and fully potty trained through children going into 8th grade in September. This summer’s program will run from June 26 through Aug. 18 for a total of eight weeks in a safe and natural environment. Early bird registration price specials — a discount of $30 per week — will be offered again this year but only until Wednesday, May 3.
Visit the spring-fed lake for boating and fishing, open grass fields, amphitheater, fire pit with seating, numerous themed cabins, main community lodge with full kitchen, recreation hall, basketball courts, movie theater, picnic pavilion, high and low ropes courses, archery range, a state-of-the-art playground, and the 40-foot rock climbing wall, vertical playpen, and zip line (weather permitting).
Summer Camp offers a variety of games including ping-pong, foose ball, billiards, air hockey, tetherball, croquet, hopscotch, horseshoes, bocce ball, and shuffleboard. Add in Can Jam, Spike Ball, Baggo, Trangle Ball, and two GaGa Pits. There are exciting optional off-site trips and interesting optional elective classes to choose for an enhanced camp experience.
