    Jan. 20Christopher Rosa, 36, of Hopatcong was sentenced to 1 year of probation. He also was ordered to pay mandatory fines and fees.
    Rosa pleaded guilty on Dec. 5, 2016, to one count of Contempt of a Court Order, a disorderly persons offense.
    On Sept. 13, 2016, Rosa was arrested after violating a domestic violence temporary restraining order.
    Jan. 23Tonia Pittenger, 48, of Newton pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled dangerous substance, a third-degree crime.
    Sentencing is scheduled for March 10.
    In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to being in possession of heroin on April 11, 2016, in Fredon Township.
    The case was investigated by Trooper D. Thomas of the New Jersey State Police.
    Jan. 25Cornelius Hill, 38, of Newton pleaded guilty to three counts of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, a third-degree crime.
    Sentencing is scheduled for March 3.
    In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted that on Feb. 1, 2013, Feb. 4, 2013, and Sept. 21, 2016, he distributed controlled dangerous substances including controlled prescription medications, crack cocaine, and heroin in Newton.
    The cases were investigated by detectives of the Sussex County Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force.
