Former Franklin man faces gun charges

    A former borough man faces gun charges after an investigation by the Franklin Police Dept. Detective bureau.
    Daniel J. Nowak, 25, who has ties to California and Georgia, but no permanent residence was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of hollow point bullets, and possesion of a defaced firearm.
    Police allege Nowak was in possession of a 9mm handgun in the ready state with a round of ammunition in the chamber and a magazine containing 9 additional hollow-point rounds. Police also said the gun's serial number was ground off and illegible.
    Police said Novak was found in a Franklin residence in which he was temporarily saying and was arrested without incident. He was taken to Franklin Police Headquarters where he was processed.
    He was sent to the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility pending an emergent hearing in Central Judicial Processing.
    The investigation is ongoing and additional complaints may be filed.
