Center to host substance use conference

The Center for Prevention and Counseling is hosting its annual substance use disorder conference on Nov. 18, at Perona Farms, Perona Road from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President of Phoenix House, New York, prominent physician, Andrew Kolodny, M.D., Physicians for Responsible Opiate Prescribing (PROP) will detail just how the epidemic of addiction was fueled while highlighting steps to address the problems.
The day will also include personal accounts of local people in recovery, an overview of the Sussex County C.L.E.A.R. Program, key findings of drug trends from the New Jersey State Police and a presentation by Newton Medical Center Emergency Department’s Medical Director, Dr. Anthony Brutico, D.O.
Whether you are a physician, a parent, a community leader, a family member looking to understanding addiction, a person in recovery or anyone interested in knowing more about solutions to addiction, you are invited to join others on Friday, November 18, 2016 at Perona Farms in Andover.
Exhibits by treatment providers and 6 hours of Continuing Education and Professional Development credits will be provided for this conference.
