Environmental Expert Tim McDonald: Removing Tank

| 19 Feb 2015 | 09:40

There is a “tank fund” available from the State of New Jersey. This fund will pay for the average homeowner to remove an underground storage tank and install a new above ground tank to replace it. Unfortunately the state defunded this program in 2011. So the fund still exists but right now there is no money in it. The state had promised to consider revisiting the issue in 2014 but so far as we know at this writing they have not refunded it. They are however still accepting applications from homeowners for this program and promise that if it is refunded the applications will be considered in the order in which they were received.
