    Oct. 3

    Erin McManus, 27, of Hopatcong pleaded guilty to fourth-degree false reports and driving while suspended.
    Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 18.
    The defendant admitted that she gave false information to Hopatcong Police as to her identity while a passenger in a car during a motor vehicle stop so she would not get in trouble. She then took possession of the vehicle and drove it knowing that her license was suspended.

    Oct. 7

    Rachel Houghtaling, 25, of Loch Sheldrake, N.Y., was sentenced to three years of non-custodial probation.
    She was ordered to submit to a substance abuse evaluation and follow all recommendations made from the same, cooperate in he prosecution of co-defendants. Her driver's license was suspended for six months.
    She pleaded guilty on Aug. 29, to possession of a controlled dangerous substance, a third-degree crime.
    She was in possession of heroin and/or Fentanyl during a traffic stop in Lafayette on July 21, 2015.

    Oct. 11

    Jason Perlet, 56, of Denville pleaded guilty to driving while licese suspended for second or subsequent driving while intoxicated violation, a fourth-degree crime.
    Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 2.
    On Feb. 9, he was stopped for speeding. In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to driving while his driver license was suspended for a prior conviction of driving while intoxicated.
    Candace Halpin, 27, of Vernon pleaded guilty to possession of Heroin, a third-degree crime, and failure to turn over, a disorderly persons offense.
    Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 18.
    In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to being in possession of 19 bags of heroin on May 12, 2012, in Vernon and failing to turn over 18 bags of heroin on Oct. 11, 2012, in Newton.
    Brandon Jerram, 22, of Vernon pleaded guilty to the fourth-degree crime of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance.
    Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 18.
    He admitted to selling marijuana, on June 17, 2016, in Vernon to an individual cooperating with the Vernon Police Departments.

    Oct. 17

    Allicia Cuneo, 32, of Newton pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, a third-degree crime.
    Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 2.
    In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to possessing Oxycodone in Newton on Jan. 10, 2016, and possessing heroin on Sept. 7, 2015, in Hampton Township.
    The cases were investigated by Detective Matthew Caine of the Sussex County Sheriff’s Office and Trooper B. A. Wawzyanick of the New Jersey State Police.
    Jamie L. Decker, 20, of Newton pleaded guilty to the third-degree crime of conspiracy to distribute a controlled danerous substance.
    Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 21.
    She admitted to conspiring with another individual to distribute heroin in the Town of Newton on August 25, 2016. The matter was investigated by Newton Police Officer Sgt. Coppolella.

    Oct. 18

    Christopher Courter, 34, of Hopatcong pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property, a third-degree crime.
    Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 2.
    In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to receiving a Dell laptop and an iPhone on June 19, 2016, in Hopatcong, knowing the property was stolen.

    Oct. 20

    Doris Hermann, 37, of Passaic was sentenced to three years of probation. She was ordered to complete 100 hours of community service work, pay restitution of $4,302.93, obtain her GED, and pay fines and fees totaling $280.
    She pleaded guilty on May 23 to conspiracy and theft, both third-degree crimes.
    She conspired with her co-defendant and agreed to obtain possession of a check issued to another and to fraudulently convert same to their own use.
    John Colgate, 35, of Stanhope pleaded guilty to possession of a prohibited weapon, a fourth-degree crime, and driving while suspended, a motor vehicle offense.
    Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 9.
    On April 6, he was stopped for a motor vehicle violation. In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to possessing a taser and to driving while his license was suspended.
    The case was investigated by Sergeant Michael O’Shea of the Hopatcong Police Department.
    James Sweller, 40, of Newton pleaded guilty to four counts of burglary, a third-degree crime, one count of defrauding a drug test, a third degree offense; one count of possessing an instrument designed to defraud a drug test, a third-degree offense; and one count of violating community supervision for life.
    Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 16.
