Participating salons in Sussex County will participate in Haircuts for Hospice on Nov. 3.
Haircuts for Hospice is one of several events that are planned during the month November to bring awareness to National Hospice Month.
On Haircuts for Hospice Day salons and stylists have agreed to donate their time, skills and proceeds from the day to the capital campaign for the Joseph T. Quinlan Bereavement Center. The center, currently located on 61 Spring Street in Newton, is looking to purchase a permanent home so they can continue to expand their services to the community.
This will be the fourth annual Haircuts for Hospice day.
“Each year we’ve not only accomplished our fundraising goals for this event, but continue to increase participation,” said Jackie Cascio, Advancement Associate at Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice.
“Some salons are donating proceeds from all haircuts, while others like are donating all services including spa services,” said Cascio. “We have participating salons located all over the county. Chances are, one is yours. It’s easy for the public to participate in this event. You just call your stylists, schedule and appointment for Nov. 3, and show up to get your haircut. It’s a great way to help us raise funds for those who need bereavement support and counseling.”
