The Sussex County Board of Chosen Freeholders, the Sussex County Division of Senior Services and the Veterans Committee are planning the 16th Annual Salute to Military Veterans Event. This annual tribute begins at 1 p.m., on Sunday, Nov. 6, at the Sussex County Fairgrounds.
The program will consist of a military fly-over of a World War II military aircraft, a parade that will highlight veterans of all branches of the service, military vehicles, civic groups, community bands and local high school bands. Highlights of the day will include the reading of essays written by local students, a Prisoner of War (POW) and Missing in Action (MIA) solemn remembrance and a 21- Gun Salute. A commemorative pin will be presented to all veterans in attendance by the Sussex County Board of Chosen Freeholders in recognition of their years of service.
This tribute to military veterans allows Sussex County to publically recognize the contributions and sacrifices our veterans and their families have made for our country. Refreshments will be provided at the conclusion of the event. We look forward to seeing you at the 16th Annual Salute to Military Veterans.
