Miss Nelson coming to Centenary Stage

| 16 Sep 2016 | 02:56

The 2nd in a series of delightful “Miss Nelson” plays premieres at Centenary Stage Company this October, when the Young Audience Series returns for a weekend of family fun Oct. 15–17 in the Little Theatre on the campus of Centenary University.
Just in time for football season, this snappy musical sequel to Miss Nelson is Missing, Miss Nelson has a Field Day is a singing, dancing, football-in-slow-motion extravaganza that includes all the favorite original characters. The ‘Smedley Tornadoes’ have not only never won a football game, they have never scored a single point. Coach Armstrong goes bonkers and Miss Nelson decides to help out. She enlists Coach Viola Swamp to whip the team into shape and save the day. The play is adapted from the book by Harry Allard and James Marshall, with book, lyrics and music by Joan Cushing.
Tickets for Miss Nelson has a Field Day are $12.50 for adults and $10.00 for children under 12. Performances will be Saturday, Oct. 15 at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 16 at 5 p.m. and Monday, Oct. 17, at 7:30 p.m.
