Wallkill River Wildlife Refuge Offers Wheelin' Warrior Deer Hunt

    Wallkill River National Wildlife Refuge, in partnership with the National Wild Turkey Federation, is offering a free guided archery hunt for wounded Veterans and disabled individuals on Nov. 1, 2, and 3, 2016.
    The Wheelin’ Warrior Deer Hunts are an opportunity for wounded Veterans and individuals with permanent physical disabilities to enjoy a quality hunting experience alongside an experienced mentor. Crossbows will be provided to participants. Free deer processing will also be provided by the Newton High School Future Farmers of America Chapter.
    Space is limited, registration is required by Oct. 3. Please specify which hunt day you would prefer. A $50 refundable deposit is required at registration. Hunters must obtain a 2016 NJ Bow and Arrow or All-around Sportsmen License, Zone 2 Bow Permit, and an Antlered Buck Permit prior to the hunt.
