Genesis Show coming to Newton Theatre

The Genesis Show is coming to The Newton Theatre on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 8 p.m.
Tickets are on sale now.
The Genesis Show focuses on the Phil Collins era of Genesis, specifically 1976-82. They will be performing the music of Genesis from the 1977 Wind & Wuthering Tour, also known as The Seconds Out Tour, from which their classic Seconds Out live album was recorded. With two drummers and lots of vintage gear The Genesis Show faithfully reproduces the live sound Genesis had in the mid-70’s, incorporating the incredible music and stunning visuals.
Genesis added Chester Thomson as the live drummer for that '77 Tour to accommodate Phil Collins stepping out from behind the drum kit to sing. Chester brought a new dimension to the band’s songs, changing the dynamic of the band. The live versions of Supper's Ready, Squonk and The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway/Musical Box, as well as all of their songs, suddenly had more power, groove and urgency. This era of Genesis was the band at their peak as a live act.
The Genesis Show does not impersonate the original band, but the music is remarkably close to the real thing, with a great light show to accompany the music.
Tickets for The Genesis Show range from $29 to $44. Purchase tickets by visiting www.thenewtontheatre.com or contact the Box Office at 973-383-3700.
