K.E.E.P. readies for after-school program

August is a busy time at K.E.E.P., Inc. Summer Camp is in full swing, the kids have renewed old friendships, made new friends and are busily rehearsing for the end-of-camp show. Some have learned to swim for the first time, some have discovered a love for a musical instrument or the benefits of yoga. While all this is going on the staff is also busily planning ahead for the opening of schools.
“It has been a great summer and its not over yet," Executive Director Christine Milligan said. "Meanwhile, we are gearing up for the school year. Most schools open on the day after Labor Day, Sept. 6, which may catch some parents off guard when it comes to before and after-care. Yearly registration is required, even for those who were in the program last year, so I would urge parents to get their registrations in to the K.E.E.P. office as soon as possible, especially if they need care to start on the first day of school. Registration may easily and quickly be done on line on our website, www.keepkids.org, or in person at our Administrative Office at 11 Park Lake Road, Sparta.”
K.E.E.P. offers after-school programs at many public school locations including Sparta, Lafayette, Montague, Sandyston-Walpack, Andover, Hampton, Ogdensburg, Frelinghuysen and Stillwater. Most locations offer before school care as well.
“We are an enrichment program. We offer a program that is educational as well as fun and includes arts and crafts, sports, games, and a variety of themed activities based on a monthly curriculum," Milligan said.
K.E.E.P., Inc. is the largest non-profit child care in Sussex County, offering flexible scheduling and low rates. NORWESCAP payments are accepted with no excess fees.
