Annual county fireman's parade planned

SUSSEX BOROUGH — Sussex Fire Department cordially invites you to the 96th Annual Sussex County Firemen’s Association Inspection Day and Parade, on October 1, 2016 at the Sussex Fire Department, Sussex, NJ. Step off is promptly at 1pm.
2016 Parade Line Up: Sussex, Wantage Township, Stanhope, Frankford Township, Green Township, Bryam Township, Vernon, Stillwater Township, Franklin, McAfee, Sparta, Andover Borough, Montague Township, Andover Township, Hardyston Township, Hampton Township, Branchville, Lafayette Township, Fredon Township, Sandyston Township, Newton, Ogdensburg, Hopatcong, Pochuck Valley, Hamburg, Highland Lakes.
Trophies will be awarded afterwards for Marching, Apparatus and Hose Laying competitions. Both in-county and out-of-county guest departments and EMS squads are eligible for trophies.
Men’s and Women’s Hose Laying Competition will take place in front of Sussex Fire Department, one half hour after parade completion.
Parade route begins on County Route 650, heading onto Route 23 South, through the center of Sussex Borough, and ending at the Sussex Fire Department Fire House.
Public parking will be at Brookside Park, on the left hand side of Walling Avenue, at the old cookie factory on Rt. 23 South and the property behind Henderson's service station (referred to as the Boggs Field).
