Traffic stop leads to arrests
HAMBURG — Three Dingmans Ferry, Pa., residents face charges after Hamburg police saw a vehicle park in front of a known drug location on Tuesday, Aug. 9.
Mark Conklin, 25, was charged with possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia and also received several motor vehicle summons. Connor Burkhardt, 20, also was charged with possession of hypodermic needes and other drug paraphernalia. Police said he also was wanted by Pennsylvania State Police in connection with an alleged sexual assault. Gianna Rose, 19, was charged on an outstanding traffic warrant.
Police said three parties exited the vehicle and entered the residence and were observed leaving the area a short time later. Observing several motor vehicle violations, police, conducted a motor vehicle stop. While speaking with the occupants of the vehicle, police observed a wax paper fold commonly used to package heroin, and also observed what was believed to be fresh track marks on the arms of the two passengers. The subsequent investigation revealed several more wax paper folds containing suspected heroin, hypodermic needles and other items of drug paraphernalia used to ingest heroin.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as Mark Conklin admitted the items were his.
Conklin and Rose were processed and released with future court appearance dates. Burkhardt was committed to the Sussex County Jail, pending extradition to Pennsylvania.
