Traveling couple to volunteer at refuge

| 03 Aug 2016 | 01:02

John and Sandi Wicklund traded their home and material possessions for a life traveling around the country and volunteering at National Wildlife Refuges.
On Thursday, Aug. 4, they will share some of their adventures with the public at the Wallkill River National Wildlife Refuge. The free presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. at 136 Owens Station Road, Sussex.
The Wicklunds live in an RV and are spending the summer at the refuge. In exchange for a place to stay, they provide assistance to the refuge staff. This summer they are helping with the public kayak program. They have traveled to many states and gained an appreciation for the wildlife and scenic landscape of the USA.
