Much more than fruit and veggies at farmers’ market

On Saturday, the Sussex County Farmers Market at the Fairgrounds was busy with not just fruit and vegetables, but live music, fine art, cheeses, jewelry and much more.
Held in the Glen Vetrano Agriculture Building, the market is open through the summer and fall until November 19. The normal hours are from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., expect during the New Jersey State Fair/Sussex County Farm & Horse Show when hours are extended and the vendors are moved into the greenhouse area within the fairgrounds.
The market is also a participant in the New Jersey Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program. At this point, it is still somewhat early for many fruit and vegetable crops, but in the weeks ahead the market’s offerings will greatly increase in variety and quantity.
