ZDC wins big at Nationals

HAMBURG — Ziegler Dance Centre’s Z Dance Troupe recently attended On Stage America Nationals in Cape May Court.
Their 79 numbers received many high scores and special judges’ awards. The dancers of Z Dance Troupe danced with so much passion they took home the following stats 11 Diamonds (a score within 3 points of a perfect score), 52 High Platinum and 16 Platinum. A few highlights from the week include petite intermediate jazz small group “Itsy Bitsy” won 3rd overall. “Tale as Old as Time” petite intermediate ballet small group won 2nd overall. In the petite intermediate large group division, ballet group “Walk in the Forrest” won 5th Overall, tap group “Jukebox Baby” won 4th Overall and hip hop group “School’s Out” won 1st Overall. Junior advance musical theatre large group “Step in Time” won 2nd Overall for all junior large groups, most entertaining for all junior division dances, as well as, 1st runner up in the Challenge of the Champions.
In the senior advance division, large group lyrical “Bottom of the River” won 3rd Overall, while jazz large group “Man with a Hex” won 1st overall. In the advance senior line division hip hop group “You Better Run” won 2nd overall and musical theatre “We Both Reached” won 1st overall. Finally in the advance teen division production, “Grease” dazzled the judge’s and brought home many awards such as: 1st overall teen production, “High Diamond” the highest scoring routine out of all teen dances that competed and they were crowned the 2016 Challenge of Champion Winners for the 13 and older division.
