Charles T. 'Charlie' McCourt

    Charles T. “Charlie” McCourt, 86 years old, died after a long illness at his home on Saturday, July 30, 2016. Born to John McCourt, Sr., and Mary Burns in Philadelphia, Pa., he travelled for many years and then lived in Jersey City, N.J., before moving to Franklin, NJ in 2003.
    Charlie served with the United States Army during World War II and the Korean War and then became a private detective co-owning a security firm and then became self employed. He was a dedicated worker and raised security dogs over the years, he took great joy in crossword puzzles and Yahtzee and was well known for his charm.
    Charlie was predeceased by his wife, Rosemary McCourt (2007) and 2 brothers, Raymond and Robert McCourt and was cared for many years by his daughter, Ondrea Hrbek of Franklin, N.J. Dear brother of Joseph McCourt of Cape May, N.J. and John McCourt, Jr. of Laurel Springs, N.J. Stepfather of Julie Asta of Wantage Twp., NJ, Charles Hrbek, Jr. of Zanesville, OH and Shane Hrbek of Franklin, N.J. Cherished by 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Deeply missed by Zoe.
    The family will receive their friends at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main Street, Franklin, NJ on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 2-6 p.m. Military services will commence at 6 p.m. with family sharing to follow. Cremation will be private.
