Mills scored 11 goals for Kean University lacrosse

    Brian Mills from Vernon High School was on the roster as a junior midfielder for the Kean University (Union, NJ) men's lacrosse program this year.
    Mills played in all 18 games for Kean and scored 11 goals and tallied three assists.
    The Cougars tallied an overall record of 11-7, with a 6-2 mark on their home field. In the Skyline Conference, they posted a record of 3-3. Kean competed in the Skyline Conference Tournament where they were defeated in the semifinal round by Montclair State University.
    Allison Mycek (Vernon High School) was a senior distance runner on the roster of the Montclair State University women's outdoor track and field team. Mycek won the 800 run at the Brick City Track and Field Classic in Newark, NJ.
    The Red Hawks placed sixth as a team at the New Jersey Athletic conference (NJAC) Championships in Galloway. Mycek, a justice studies major, was named to the NJAC Academic All-Conference Honorable Mention Team.
    Casey Jervis (Wallkill Valley High School) was a junior pitcher for the Ramapo College (Mahwah, NJ) baseball team this spring. Jervis, listed as a engineering physics major, appeared in 14 games for Ramapo and had a pitching record of 3-0 with 2.17 earned run average. He also had a save and struck out 31 batters.
    The Roadrunners had an overall record of 35-12-1 and they were 12-5 on their home field. In the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) they posted a record of 11-7. Ramapo won the NJAC Baseball Championship Tournament with an 8-3 victory over Montclair State in the final round held in Kean University in Union.
    From there, the Roadrunners advanced to the NCAA Division III New York Regional hosted by SUNY Cortland in Auburn, N.Y. They defeated Union College (3-2) and Susquehanna University (9-2), but they lost to Susquehanna (7-2) and SUNY Cortland (13-4).
    Shannon Turner (Vernon High School) was a freshman listed as a competitor in throwing events for the New Jersey Institute of Technology's women's outdoor track and field program. Turner broke the freshman hammer throw record for Montclair State with a distance of 30.28 meters at the East Stroudsburg Invitational. Turner placed 10th in the shot put and 12th in the hammer throw for the Highlanders at the Atlantic Sun Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Jacksonville, Florida.
