Westy's gymnasts look back on success

The gymnastics team at Westys Gymnastics has so much to celebrate this 2015-2016 season.
These girls from all over the county train year round with their team coaches Danielle Oehrlich (owner), Marisa Bortone and Jacqueline Coombs. The girls have committed themselves to being the very best athletes that they can possibly be.
After many regular season meets in which the gymnasts consistently reached the podium (quite often the top 3 spots) our team was off to the State competitions which were hosted by both Flyers Academy and Westys Gymnastics.
Samie Copley of Vernon is the 2016 N.J. State Bronze Balance Beam Champion and Lexi Ingoglia of Lake Hopatcong is the 2016 N.J. State Copper Vault Champion.
After states Westy's went to the USAIGC National Competition held in Orlando, Fla. This competition had countries such as Bermuda, Canada, South Africa, UK Whales, and England attending this year with well over 1,100 hundred gymnasts competing throughout the nine day competition. Cassandra Sullivan of Sparta competed at her first nationals this year and received her highest score on floor with an 8.75 placing her in the top 10% of the competition.
Westys is no stranger to having champions as they have been the home to state and national champions since they opened 22 years ago. Westys has three state champions currently training at the gym preparing to compete internationally in Bermuda during the month of November: Samie Copley, Lexi Ingoglia and two-time floor champion Sarah Philback.
