Macmillan named High Point valedictorian

Kaitlyn Macmillan was the valedictorian at High Point Regional High School for the class of 2016.
She will attend Princeton University on full financial aid and will major in either molecular biology or neuroscience. She plans on being a doctor without borders.
Macmillan did a two-year research project linking the connection between migraines and sleep disorders and was the featured speaker at the science research symposium for High Point High School, where she presented her results.
Macmillan was the secretary of the National Honor Society, an officer of Science National Honor Society and the vice president of Math Honor Society, and involved in the Foreign Language National Honor Society, received the Superintendent's Round Table Award, received the Science Award and the Foreign Language Award, the Principal's Cup, and the Superintendent's Roundtable Award from High Point.
Taylor was the co-president of Basic, a Christian club at High Point. She attended the governor school for science for three weeks in July 2015 and received a Princeton book award.
