    James Mitchell, 42, of Vernon, having previously been convicted of a sexual offense requiring registration under the New Jersey Sex Offense Act, pleaded guilty to Failure to Register, a third-degree Crime.
    Sentencing is scheduled for July 8, 2016.
    May 16
    Ricky McCarthy, 61, of of Sussex Borough, having been previously convicted of a sexual offense requiring registration under the New Jersey Sex Offense Act, pleaded guilty to failure to register, a third-degree crime.
    Sentencing is scheduled for June 17.
    May 18
    Mark Friedman, 53, of Andover pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful possession of a weapon, a fourth-degree crime, one count of forgery, a third-degree crime; and, one count of failure to register, having been previously convicted of a sexual offense requiring registration under the New Jersey Sex Offender Act, knowingly failed to register with the Byram Township Police Department, a third-degree crime.

    Edward Bochinsky, Jr., 32, of Sussex Borough, and Steven Smith, 29, of Sussex Borough were each indicted on one count of first-degree strict liability for a drug-induced death, one count of third-degree distribution of heroin and one count of third-degree conspiracy to distribute heroin.
    It is alleged that both defendants distributed a controlled dangerous substance to B.A., age 22, in the Township of Wantage on Aug. 21, 2015, and that B.A. then died as a result of the injection of that controlled dangerous substance.
    The defendants are in the Keogh Dwyer Correctional Facility in lieu of the bail established by the Superior Court.
    The indictment also charges Smith with distribution, possession with intent to distribute and possession of a controlled dangerous substance on Aug. 24, 2015, in the township of Newton, county of Sussex.
    The Indictment also charges Smith and Theodore Robbins, II, with possession with intent to distribute and possession of a controlled dangerous substance on Oct. 2, 2015, in the township of Lafayette, County of Sussex.
    This matter was investigated by The Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office and The New Jersey State Police.
    Arraignment before the Superior Court in Newton will be within the next six weeks.
