Former Disney cast member and musical theater professional Katie Sondermeyer is delighted to be joining Sing A Song NJ, LLC., home of Music Together of Sparta, as the newest Music Together teacher, and as the instructor of their newest performance classes geared toward 6-9 year olds.
The summer acting program called, ACT TOO!, was created as a weekly hour and a half class teaching healthy vocal habits, age appropriate songs, theatre games, stage presence, scene creation and development, pantomime, improvisation, and song creation. The final class will conclude with a show case for parents and friends.
“Our Music Together classes are for children ages birth to 5 years, and the adults who love them.” Says Heather Donnelly, Director of Sing A Song NJ LLC. “We have created such a wonderful musical community in our classes, with families who really appreciate the amazing benefits of music. Naturally they want to continue with a high quality program for their Music Together graduates,” adds
Donnelly. “ACT TOO! was created to fill that need.”
Sondermeyer, has been a Music Together registered teacher since winter.
Katie’s lively, fun and educational classes have received rave reviews by the families that she teaches.
“I learned early that the key to running a successful business is to surround yourself with top notch talented teachers who are just as passionate as you are about your business,” says Owner and Center Director Heather Donnelly. “Katie was a quick learner and really appreciates the powerful impact she is making on our community.”
Sondermeyer received her degree in Theater Studies from Montclair University. She has taught acting and voice as well as directed for various camps and programs around New Jersey. Sondermeyer has also taught in preschools as well.
Being a Music Together teacher and having the opportunity to teach acting was a natural step for her to make.
“I heard about the Music Together program from my aunt who is a former Music Together teacher. I came to watch a class to find out more about it,” says Sondermeyer. “When I saw the quality of the classes and the emphasis on early childhood development combined with amazing music, I was hooked!” adds Sondermeyer.
ACT TOO! will be held on Thursdays from 4:30 to 6:00 beginning on Thursday, June 3, to Aug. 4, at the Music Together studio attached to Sparta Lanes Bowling Alley in Sparta. The cost is $175. Our Music Together Summer Fun 2 classes begin the week of July 5 for 5 weeks, at the Sparta Lanes location.
