Hamburg School Holds Third Renaissance Faire

Eight years ago Hamburg School seventh grade history teacher Michael Blochinger began holding a mini- Renaissance Faire in his classroom.
However, Tuesday marked the third year that a large-scale fair was held in the school’s auditorium.
This year’s event was produced by his seventh grade students who began preparing for the event in March by making crafts, props, scripts, and costumes.
With a theme of Medieval Marketplace, underclassmen were each given token coins with which they could purchase the crafts created by the older students.
The theoretical reason for celebrating with the fair was Hamburg’s defeat of legendary “O-burg,” which had placed Hamburg under siege. Regardless, all of the students were thrilled with the day’s experience.
