Pass It Along's Night at the Races

SPARTA — On June 11, get dressed up for the derby, and witness the final leg of the Triple Crown, The Belmont Stakes, at a themed event, A Night at the Races, brought to you by Pass it Along, the Sparta-based non-profit that encourages young people in community service.
The event will be held at the Red Tail Lodge sponsored by Mountain Creek in Vernon. Doors open at 6 p.m. The Belmont Stakes race will help to kick off this 2nd annual Pass It Along fundraising event which will feature 8 real, pre-recorded horse races for attendees to wager on for a chance to win several tricky tray baskets. Admission includes betting bucks for the horse races, food from the area's finest restaurants such as Andre's Restaurant, Cafe Pierrot, Tanti Baci Cafe, The Red Tail Lodge, Casa Bellisima, and Salt Gastro Pub, as well as dancing to live musical performance by Street Hassle, a 12-piece band with 5 horns and 2 women vocalists, performing a wide variety of popular classic rock, blues, Motown and pop songs.
Last year's event gathered more than 300 attendees. Lodging available at The Appalachian Hotel located next to the Red Tail Lodge. All proceeds will go to continue to provide the Pass It Along program at no cost to local teenagers teaching self-discovery, volunteerism and leadership.
