Francis C. Meyer

    Francis C. Meyer, 90, passed away on Wednesday May 4, 2016. Francis was born on Feb. 16, 1926, in Queens, N.Y., to the late Frank and Theresa (nee Albrecht) Meyer. He was a resident of Oakland and the last 40 years in Hardyston.
    Francis in the 1940’s, was a Boy Scout and a volunteer scout leader for a troop in Queens, N.Y. After his high school graduation he joined the Army Air Corps in 1944 becoming a B-25 bomber, navigator and instructor, he attained the rank of Tech Sergeant. He was honorably discharged and a recipient of WWII Victory Medal. He was employed at Simplex, Norelco, and Rochester Tel as a telephone switching systems technician for over 40 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of local electricians union IBEW 164. Francis enjoyed the company of his family, friends and spending time with his dog Marley. He enjoyed his crossword puzzles and watching baseball.
    Francis was predeceased by his wife, Genevieve (Nee Chwatek) Meyer, and his sister Helen Meyer, and his grandson Mark Readmond.
    Francis is survived by his children; CW4, US Army (retired) Robert S. Meyer (wife Hanju) of Upper Marlboro, Md., Kim T. Readmond of Hardyston, and Karl F. Meyer (wife Tammy) of Hardyston, and his grandchildren; CPT, U.S. Army 175th Ranger Regiment Jay Meyer of Savannah, Ga., 1st Lt., U.S. Army DC National Guard Stephen Meyer of Upper Marlboro, Md., Michael Readmond of Dingmans’ Ferry, Pa., Neil Readmond, Briana Karczmer, Carolyn Readmond, Katherine Readmond, and Alan Readmond all of Hardyston, and his great granddaughter Savannah Readmond of Dingmans’ Ferry, Pa.
    Relatives and friends are invited to attend graveside services on Saturday May 7th at 11:15 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, North Church Road, Franklin, N.J.
