The show must go on

Despite a rainy start to the day, on Friday evening, hundreds of people turned out for the annual “Artstanding” event presented by the Vernon Education Foundation and the township’s schools.
Held at Lounsberry Hollow Middle School, the event proved to be a testament to the fact that the arts are alive and well and thriving in the township. In the past the event was held indoors and outside, but this year most of the activities were held inside the school.
In addition to music and the thespian arts, hundreds of drawings, paintings, and photographs were displayed at the school. The event included artwork from students attending all six of Vernon’s schools. A series of musical concerts was also included for those attending. There were also hands-on things to do including pottery lessons.
