The Wallkill Valley Regional High School Chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) hosted a Senior Citizens’ Prom on April 15, in the high school cafeteria from 6-9 p.m. with 130 senior citizens attending.
The cafeteria was decorated in a Wild West theme. FBLA members Kyle McKenna and Garett Koch did an outstanding job as chairpeople for the event; they were assisted by Sara Miceli and Lillian Pires. The following additional FBLA members contributed food and helped with setup, decorations, serving, cleanup, and, of course, dancing with the seniors: Nicole Andretta, Olivia Biddulph, Kayla Bifano, Francesca Ciasullo, Luca Demarco, Zach Dora, Breanna Ebisch, Sheridan Formoso, Madison Gerisch, Mackenzie Gibson, Tim Hendershot, Maddie Hook, Randi Lyn Hornyak, Samantha Hutnick, Audrey Janosko, Ryan Kostelnik, Lindsay Kromitz, Mackenzie Lally, Vinny Limon, Leo Lorenzetti, Emma McGuire, Maci Morano, John Mueller, Scott Mueller, Eric Robertson, Ana Schroeder, Hannah Sekelsky, Tyler Small, Kaitlyn Smith, Amanda Spindler, Andrew Vanicek, Julianna Verso, Santasia Whetham-Denton, and Jaida White.
Door prizes were awarded; and Emily Bazelewich and Gary Coates were crowned the Prom Queen and King. One of the guests, Ida Swayze, sang several beautiful renditions of Patsy Cline tunes.
