    Horace “Hardy” Theodore Sanders, 73 years old, died unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, April 17, 2016. Born to Douglas and Mildred Sanders in Vernon Twp., N.J., where he has been a lifelong resident.
    Horace worked for Accurate Forming in Hamburg, N.J., as a setup and leadman for 37 years, retiring in 1997. He was an avid NASCAR fan, an original member of the McAfee Fire Department and a loving and doting grandfather.
    Horace was predeceased by 2 brothers and 3 sisters and is the beloved husband for 53 years of Ruth Ann Sanders(nee Gunderman) of Vernon Twp., N.J. Devoted father of Ginger Rittmann of McAfee, N.J., Todd Sanders and his wife, Alice, of McAfee, N.J., and Christine Hills and her husband, Bradley, of Hardyston Twp., N.J. Loving grandfather of Carly, Robert, Avery and Jack. Dear brother of Douglas Sanders, Hank Sanders and Alice Keppler all of McAfee, N.J., and Ida Shauger of Montague, N.J. Cherished by many nieces and nephews.
    The family will receive their friends for memorial visitation at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94(1 Vanderhoof Court for GPS), Vernon, N.J. on Friday, April 22, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. Memorial service will be Saturday, April 23, 2016, at McAfee Fire House, Route 94, McAfee, NJ at 11 a.m. Cremation was private.
