    Stephanie A. Smith, 21, of Hamburg was charged with filing a false report after police responded to a report of a theft and fraudulent use of a credit card.
    An investigation by the Franklin Borough Police Detective Bureau revealed Smith filed a false report with officers.
    Smith further reported that she believed an acquaintance found the credit card and used it to withdraw several hundred dollars from her personal bank account.
    The Franklin Police Detective Bureau’s investigation allged Smith had allegedly, voluntarily turned over her credit card and personal identification number to a male acquaintance and allowed that male to withdraw several hundred dollars.
    Smith allegedly made a report with the branch bank in the Borough explaining someone had accessed her personal bank account and fraudulently withdrew funds from her account.
    Detectives alleged Smith made a false report in an effort to have the bank reimburse her money which she had voluntarily spent. Ms. Smith is alleged to never have misplaced her credit / debit card.
    She was released pending a Court appearance in Superior Court.

    Anthony John Robert Cabral, 24, of Franklin was charged with distribution of heroin and with cruelty and neglect of children after police responded to multiple complaints of narcotics activity near and around Main Street and Rutherford Avenue.
    After a narcotics investigation, police alleged Cabral was selling heroin and neglecting a child while selling heroin. Police said Child Protection and Permanency assisted with that portion of the investigation. Police allege he was found to be in possession of heroin upon arrest.
    The investigation is ongoing.
    Cabral was sent to the Sussex County Jail in lieu of $32,500 with no 10 percent option.
