Area middle schoolers win caring awards

Fifteen area middle school students were the recipients of the annual Middle School Caring Awards presented by the Sussex County School Counselors Association at a breakfast.
The event was held in the Café at Sussex County Community College on Thursday, March 17.
The students who exemplified a caring attitude towards their school and community were recommended for the awards by a guidance counselor from their middle school.
This year’s recipients were Savanna Kirchoff from Long Pond School, Andover; Delaina Predmore from Byram Township Intermediate School; Madeline Hodgins from Frankford Township School; Cassidy Rathbun from Franklin Elementary School; Ryan Vanicek from Hamburg Public School; Jessica Dupre from Hardyston Township School; Charlotte Whritenour from Hopatcong Middle School; Sarah DiGiorgio from Kittatinny Regional High School; Robyn Platz from Lafayette Township School; Luca Morello from Halsted Middle School, Newton; Kayla Lame from Ogdensburg School; Gregory Puszcz from Sparta Middle School; Rebecca Kopf from Sussex County Charter School, Sparta; Kaitlyn LaRue from Sussex Middle School; and Colin Ziabakhsh from Glen Meadow School, Vernon.
